Back in the Old Town by dinner
Day trips from Hội An
Hội An is one of the best bases in Vietnam — some of the most rewarding places on this coast are a scooter ride away, and you can be back in the Old Town by dinner. These aren’t trips we’ve copied off another list. They’re the ones we’ve actually done, more than once, and written up first-hand: where to go, how to get there, and which parts are worth your day.
Easy wins, with kids
Three trips that reward the effort and still get everyone home in one piece.
Waterfalls near Hội An and Đà Nẵng
Don’t come to Hội An expecting to find waterfalls in town — the town sits flat and low by the coast, with nothing within about 10km. Point yourself at the hills, though, and Central Vietnam delivers.

Waterparks and adventure
When the swimming holes are out of season, or you simply want the day handed to you with lifeguards and a lunch option, these are the built ones. Three are a drive; the last is a swim.
